Band update!!

So I unfortunately missed band practice this week due to visiting my home town but I just got an update and we have started on another original!! I am so excited to hear it and cannot wait till we get a couple more down so we can record! This news is just what I needed to find the motivation to continue practising and get some study done whilst I am away!
I even started writing another song this morning for our punk / post hardcore band!

P.S We still cannot decide on a band name so if you have any suggestions let me know!! We are praying that we will pick one within the week!

Music makes my world ~

Music means so much to me, it has always been a big part of my life. The most significant moment in my life relating to music is when I ended up in my Year 12 music class. I never ever planned to do music in year 12 nor did I never ever think that I was good enough.

After a sequence of events and a huge dislike of chemistry I decided I best do music! There were only about 4 of us in the class so 3 of us became a band whilst the other went solo. There was myself who played rhythm guitar, Justin who played lead guitar and Sam who played drums. This wasn't quite our idea of a band so we recruited Mitch to sing for us from the year level below and our mate Raff jumped on bass and volunteered to play for us all year even though he wasn't doing the class nor did he own a bass! So after a hard year of "study" and some great teachers the guys insisted that we play at an 18th. After that 'Oddity' was officially a band and we gigged flat out for the next year! We had many ups and downs and changed members far too often but the year was hectic and amazing! We were lucky to support loads of bands such as The Butterfly Effect and Vanessa Amorosi. We have now gone our separate ways but Mitch and myself have both ended up in Adelaide and are now starting a new band! So stop by my blog soon and I will be sure to keep you up to date on our new adventures!

Music & Me

People always seem to judge music styles and I find far too often people miss judge or just assume what kind of music I like. And I bet by the look of my blog many of you might think I would like happy 'main stream pop' music or 'county' music but these two styles are probably my least favourite music genres!! I am actually a big fan of just about any other genre though; from metal to classical! My all time favourite band is Slipknot and I am currently loving Calling All Cars and Lostprophets.

What music are you into at the moment?

And have you ever surprised people with what styles you like?

Earth without Art

I love being artistic but I rarely find time, so in the mean time while I await the summer holidays I have decided to share a piece from my previous works each week. My most recent artworks revolved around drawings of my friends, in particular those who were in my previous band Oddity. The drawings were based on photographs and the original photography was done by Sophie. I used 6B pencils in this drawing of Mitch and I do not have the best scanner so thanks to Photoshop it has been adjusted so it now looks similar to the real version.

Girls and giggles!

I am so lucky to have some great friends and I just love the fact that we can go without months of seeing each other and sometimes even without talking when time slips away but we always manage to come back together for brunches and afternoon teas. Today I had the most delicious breakfast with my dear friends Kellie and Mel, we are all living in different parts of Australia these days, with Mel and I being about 11 hours apart (by car) most of the time but I just love when we get to catch up and I can always count on them (..and somehow we never run out of things to talk and laugh about).

I cannot wait until this afternoon I am hoping to give you a little peak into my life and show you some things that I just LOVE.

First blog post, 17th September 2011

After some convincing and coercion from my friends I have finally decided to make my very own blog! I have been a fond user of deviantART in the past and a strong follower of some of my friends blogs and now it is my turn to create my own little space!

I am so excited to share with everyone my small and large projects such as my new pink and purple hair, my bands journey, vintage fashion shoots and much, much more!

I am still in the process of finding my way around the blog world so if you have any tips or suggestions I would love to hear them!
